StratNex was founded in 2021 in Dar es Salaam, out of a simple observation: serious investors looking at Tanzania were consistently underserved by the advisory options available to them. The international firms had the brand but not the local relationships. The local firms had the relationships but not the institutional discipline. Most of the work that should have been done well was being done poorly — or not at all.
We started with a small team and a single mandate: help a private investor acquire a commercial building in Masaki without losing the deal to documentation friction. That engagement closed, the client referred the next, and the firm grew from there — across real estate, then agriculture, then digital, then project structuring. Each desk was added in response to a client need, not as a strategic line on a chart.
Today we work with investors and operators across the East African Community, from our office at Makumbusho House, No. 1 in Dar es Salaam. We are still deliberately small, still deliberately selective, and still organised around the same principle: do the work properly, communicate honestly, and let the outcomes speak for themselves.

We do not take on every enquiry. We qualify every intake and decline engagements where we cannot add clear value. We would rather refer you to a better fit than take on work we cannot do well.
